“Church isn’t where you meet. Church isn’t a building.
Church is what you do. Church is who you are.
Church is the human outworking of the person of Jesus Christ.
Let’s not go to Church, let’s be the Church.”

GIVE

Our God is a God of abundance and He loves to give. He sacrificed willingly on the cross and then invited us into fullness of life. As His children, we are called to imitate Him. Our generosity in giving is a demonstration of God’s character and a response to what He has done for us.

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.
Music & Worship

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Education

A central goal of our church is to help educate, equip, and empower individuals as they seek to learn and apply Biblical principles and Christian values for daily living.  Our vision is to do more than put together classes that merely educate the mind; we strive to have a program that touches the heart and encourages each member to grow in relationship with Christ and develop as active disciples for him.  The education ministry at 3:16 is comprehensive with opportunities for children, youth, and adults.

Local Outreach

Connecting with our local community is a primary focus of our church.  The purpose of our local outreach ministry is to model Christ’s concern for people, both individually and collectively in communities.  We believe we are called to help with the needs and concerns of persons beyond our congregation, relating the ministry of the local church to the needs of the world through compassion, support, and service.
Prayer

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Throughout the week,  our Prayer Warriors pray for our community, our church leadership, a list of church members, our missionaries, and any special requests,
Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is an evolving process for our church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. CD copies of any of our weekly sermons are available upon request.. We also maintain active Facebook and Instagram accounts for additional church communication.
Pastoral Care

Our Pastoral Care Team provides a vital service for the pastoral concerns of our congregation, their friends and families, as well as those in our community.  Although our church believes each of us is called to minister to those around us, this team is the organizational center of pastoral care.

Administration

The purpose of the Administration Team is to oversee the operational and financial aspects of our church.  In many respects, the Administration Team serves as the back bone of our church, providing much of the support necessary for many of our ministry groups to function effectively.

Mission Outreach

We at 3:16 are thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom beyond our local community and are actively supporting missionaries throughout the world.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it’s through prayer, service, or financial assistance. Click on the icons below for more information on many of the missionary activities we are supporting via the Mennonite Mission Network.
Ministry Support

In addition to our in-house programs, we support a variety of ministries based “outside our walls”.  Click the tabs below to learn about a few of these ministries:

How Do I Meet People?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.
Small Group

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held in member homes and at the church. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve people. At a time designated by your group leader you can participate in the small group study.
Youth Ministry

In addition to meeting each Sunday morning for class, the youth in our church participate in a variety of activities and programs intended for both fellowship and ministry.  Previous fellowship outings have included movie nights, trips to Dollywood and Carowinds, and a zipline excursion with Sky Valley Zip Tours.  Recent service activities include filling gift boxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child and collecting donations for the “Blankets and Bibles” program to help serve the less fortunate in our community.  Our youth leaders serve as mentors and are exceptional in their ability to relate to teens.
Children’s Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of our class teachers has a heart for young kids and provides an educational environment that encourages interaction. The children’s ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful communication with kids.
Women’s Group

The women’s group gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups are times of Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. This group provides a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages.  Our church hosts a weekly men’s breakfast that enables men to meet as peers and connect with one another.

 A New Direction

Walk In the Word Website Sidebar
We at 3:16 Christian Community Church have moved into a new facility in Longview, NC.  The old Forest City Tool office building was purchased by the 3:16 congregation in the spring of 2016. For nearly sixty years our church family has served both our local and global community and we are excited to continue serving from our new location.  The address of our new building is 720 23rd Street Northwest, Hickory, NC 28601.  (Just look for the big, blue Longview water storage tower and we’re directly across the street)

3:16 CCC has an ongoing desire to connect with people by creating an environment for ministry that will segue into interactive relationships. These developing friendships create a natural avenue through which the gospel is communicated from friend to friend, establishing an ever increasing network of Christ-followers. We at 3:16 CCC are pursuing opportunities to better make this vision a reality. More importantly, we sense that we are responding to a call that is God-directed and must therefore be followed.

Thru the work of volunteers and staff we desire to be a transforming presence in our community.  Every spring we plant a Community Garden full of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and peppers.  We host monthly summer outdoor cook-outs and winter Community Bingo nights.  We have Worship Services and Prayer Meetings, go on service trips and work projects.  We seek to be a place that the surrounding community sees as a beacon of light and hope – a people who proclaim the Word of God and life-changing power of a Risen Savior.

Donations are tax-deductible; any checks can be made out to 3:16 CCC Building Fund and mailed to: 3:16 CCC, 720 23rd Street NW,  PO Box 3369 Hickory, NC 28603.  Online donations can be made by clicking the link below.

Thank you for your prayers and support.  May God bless you.

We Want You…
3:16 Christian Community Church is a unique place where you are more than just a number…it is a place where you can make a difference!  For anyone with a passion to serve and use your God-given gifts in a setting where they will be both appreciated and recognized…we want you!
Be a part of a growing, Christ-centered church.  A place where the Bible is preached, Christ is Savior and each one of us has a purpose and place to serve one another in love.
